Office Visits

Every Smile Begins with a Comprehensive Exam

Welcome to our practice! Whether it has been 6 months or 6 years, it is always a good time to get back on track.

Your initial visit to the practice is a comprehensive exam.

During this visit we will:

  • Spend time getting to know you and your dental history
  • Take a series of x-rays depending on your dental needs
  • Perform an oral cancer screening
  • Complete a periodontal assessment
  • Develop an individualized treatment plan based on your specific needs

If there are any specific things you may want to change about your mouth or smile, we are happy to spend time explaining all of those options for you, and answer any and all of your questions.

We pride ourselves in our ability to build strong relationships with our patients, and our hope is that will see that after your first visit with us. Lastly, our staff will assist you with any insurance or financial-related questions that you may have, so that there are no surprises.

I’ve had my Comprehensive Exam; Now What?

The first visit after a comprehensive exam is usually a hygiene visit. Here, our hygienists will assess the health of your gums and perform a prophylaxis cleaning. They will help give you a jump-start to a healthy mouth.

Our hygienists are outstanding at answering questions and providing treatment, especially if any management is necessary for gum disease. However, if you are having pain or problems at your comprehensive exam, we will work to focus on the problem at hand and get you out of pain first.

Regular Hygiene Visits

The best way to prevent decay and infections in the mouth is committing to your routine hygiene visits every 6 months. A routine hygiene visit includes a prophylaxis cleaning, oral cancer screening, routine x-rays, routine gum checks, and a doctor exam.
