Prevention and Hygiene

Examination

Dental examinations and oral cancer screenings are performed twice per year for all patients to evaluate their dental and oral health and prevent future problems from developing. We also recommend yearly evaluations for patients with complete dentures.

Prophylaxis

A professional dental cleaning should be performed at least twice per year to remove plaque and tartar for optimal oral health.

Digital X-Rays

To assist the dentist in identifying dental problems that are not visible during a clinical exam, digital x-rays are taken annually. In addition, we offer a 3-D digital x-ray to diagnose jaw problems, maxillary sinus issues, and root infections. This is taken approximately every 3-5 years.

Mouth Guards

Custom mouth guards fabricated by a dentist can be used to protect the mouth during sports and are used to treat certain conditions, including grinding and TMJ problems.

Fluoride Treatment

Professional fluoride treatment is offered as a preventive service for all ages to build stronger enamel that resists tooth decay. Our office offers fluoride varnish as well as fluoride gel.
